Pop X Poetry Gets Worldwide Launch Party

October 26 16:15 2021

Key West, Florida – To celebrate Kurt Cole Eidsvig’s new book POP X POETRY: Biography of an Icon, distinguished guest readers from around the world will participate in a Zoom Book Launch on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at 5 PM EST. Eidsvig and guests will share original work from the book that features over 300 poems and 30 original artworks on literature’s most notorious subject.

Written in easy-to-read haiku, POP X POETRY reveals the untold story of Poetry’s life. Hot affairs, celebrity encounters, brutal confessions, love, loss, and laughter weave through this dark comedy of words.

“Poetry isn’t who we think they are,” says Eidsvig about his book. “POP X POETRY has rap songs, bad guys, celebs, booze, sex, gossip, and lies. This is Reality TV Poetry, Action-Movie Poetry. For everyone who hated High School English class or loves streaming shows and staring at your iPhone, this is the book for you.”

A published author for over 20 years, Eidsvig has won awards from the Warhol Foundation / Creative Capital, the Massachusetts Cultural Council, and the University of Montana. His art has been shown in exhibitions around the world.

Eidsvig says, “Poetry made me write this book.”

Poets, artists, authors, art enthusiasts, and creatives from the United States, Europe, and Canada are scheduled to accompany Eidsvig as distinguished readers for the Zoom Book Launch. They include Sylvie Agudelo, KL and Martin Cockroft, Michael Conroy, Peg Farber-Burr, Mayeti Gametchu, Sean Gill, Jake Kanengiser, Daisy Kincaid, Jake Maulin, Elle Aviv Newton, Dr. EL Putnam, M.N. Snow, Emmerline Smy, and Catherine Theis.

Guests should use Meeting ID: 815 8756 8722 and Passcode: Poetry to attend the event.

“No one’s seen or done more than Poetry,” says Eidsvig. “POP X POETRY spans from lovers and wars to fights and drinking binges. In this book you can hide beneath the bed while Emily Dickinson tinkers with some lines or bolt from the sheets next to Poetry when their ex texts at 3 A.M.”

POP X POETRY: Biography of An Icon is now available for purchase through local bookstores, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Target. People can learn more at EidsvigArt.com.
